Is SeoulCeuticals Really Korean?
Korean skincare is a beauty philosophy focused on nourishment, consistency, and a lifetime of dedicated care. As part of the growing K-beauty industry, we know there are a lot of questions about Korean skincare and its legitimacy — especially as it has become a beauty trend in the United States.
As a US-based company, one of the most common questions we're asked is whether SeoulCeuticals is a real Korean beauty brand. First, we're pleased the question gets asked, and we think it should be asked more often across the industry. Here's a straight answer.
Are your products made in Korea?
No. They're made in a state-of-the-art facility in the United States.
We produce here because it lets us stay directly involved in manufacturing and hold our standards to the level we want. What comes from Korea is the philosophy and the key ingredients — not the factory, and we'd rather say so plainly than imply otherwise.
Cultural respect
SeoulCeuticals deeply respects Korean skincare innovation and ingredient traditions, and celebrates their global influence without claiming to represent Korean culture. Our owners are not Korean. The key ingredients and the philosophy behind the formulas are.
Our principles
- Focus on results — inspired by Korean skincare for effective, visible results.
- Authentic positioning — we do not position ourselves as a Korean-owned company.
- Collaborative development — we work with Korean skincare expertise during product development.
- Strategic sourcing — key ingredients come from South Korean suppliers with long histories.
- Expert leadership — our Head of Product Development, Ella Cho, brings deep experience in Korean beauty formulation.
Pure, quality ingredients from South Korea
One of our unwavering standards is sourcing select ingredients directly from South Korea. Snail mucin, Panax ginseng extract, rice bran, PDRN and centella asiatica all come from Korean suppliers.
These ingredients are sourced naturally, and they're pure, effective and cruelty-free — absolutely no harm comes to the snails during the collection of snail mucin. We work closely with our South Korean partners to ensure the authenticity and integrity of what reaches you, and use organic ingredients wherever possible.
Product development with Ella Cho
One of the most valuable steps we've taken as a company was welcoming Ella Cho to the SeoulCeuticals family. Ella spent years living in Korea, working with some of the world's largest K-beauty brands. She brings an intimate understanding of Korean beauty and has helped align our brand with the philosophy behind Korean skincare, providing insight into both the heritage and the functional benefits of these ingredients.
Our purpose
Founded in the US in 2016, SeoulCeuticals is a Korean-inspired skincare brand known for merging clinically respected active ingredients with traditional Korean ones.
Our mission: to deliver unique, highly effective skincare by combining traditional Korean ingredients with clinically advanced actives.

The Korean skincare philosophy
Influencers and industry leaders have brought Korean skincare to the forefront of beauty in the United States. While that trend has grown over recent years, we understand and respect that Korean skincare is a time-honoured tradition of self-care with a rich history spanning generations.
The philosophy begins by acknowledging that everyone's skin has its own natural ecosystem, then building on and protecting that ecosystem with long-term health in mind. It isn't about mass-marketed solutions to skincare woes, but targeted ongoing care for your skin's particular needs.
That contrasts with the typical Western approach, which tends to treat imbalances and signs of ageing once they've already appeared. Put simply: Korean skincare is preventive, Western skincare is more often corrective.
The steps of a Korean routine
We've designed our range to work with the steps of a Korean routine — but there's no set number of steps and no products you're obliged to use. It's individual. You use what your skin actually needs.
A Korean routine might be five steps or more than a dozen. Where some routines use a two-stage cleanse with both oil- and water-based cleansers, our Ultra Glow Turmeric Face Wash — made with hemp seed oil and vitamin B5 — cleanses gently across all skin types without stripping your natural oils.
We also offer exfoliating toners, serums, face oil, masks, essences and moisturisers so you can build a routine that fits.
So — is it legit?
We were founded with immense respect for Korean skincare and a mission to make high-quality, naturally derived Korean-inspired products that are affordable and accessible. Our owners aren't Korean. Our products aren't manufactured in Korea. But the key ingredients and the philosophy behind the formulas genuinely are.
We honour the traditions of Korean beauty, hold ourselves to high standards of quality and purity, and would rather tell you exactly where everything comes from than let you assume.
